Description

Read below if you want to read this little guy's story, he is now at Dogs & Cats forever, if you live in south florida give them a call and give him a new home. :)

---------------------------

Just wanted to write it out, its too long and not even everything that happened, lol feel free to skip it.

It was late in the evening and my sister ~MyWorld1 and our good friend ~CrescentMoon20 decided to go out bikeriding, we rode our bikes to walmart and then I convinced them to go a bit further even though my sis didn't really like the idea. On the way home we heard a noise, I didn't stop at first as I thought it sounded like a bird, but then they both started shouting to me and squealing, I came to a stop, jumped off my bike and saw a tiny orange kitten running along side the rode in the little dip between road and sidewalk. It was so dirt they both thought he was grey at first.

We scared him with the bikes which is why he went from sidewalk to road, and soon he fell into the storm drain, it was dark and he was frightened and probobly couldn't tell where he was going. He continued to meow, and meow, and meow. We reached in as far as we could and couldn't reach him, I was literally laying in the dirt half on the storm drain trying to stretch my arm as long as possible as the other two waved off traffic (thank goodness this was in a turn lane).

Finally we decided we better call the cops, a lady came first who was more interested in why we were out so late (it was maybe 10) and who had very little interest in rescuing the cat, as soon as another officer came saying he'd help she left, she was fairly rude so I was pretty happy she'd gone. They weren't hopeful at first because the storm drain was so heavy, a couple hundred pounds maybe, but we couldn't just leave him and he was crying louder for help. Finally a few more officers came and with alot of hard work three managed to carefully lift it and pull it to the side. Afterwhich my friend and I laid in the dirt again, trying out our most realistic cat noises until we coaxed him to climb up high enough for her grab him.

We then had to ride home with him (on bikes, much easier said than done) and had to stay up aaallll night with him in order to keep him quiet and calm. He wanted people, my other cats, food, and to explore. We only got maybe 2 hours of sleep that night. We would have loved to keep him...so badly, but my dad said no even though my mom fell so in love with him when she met him that morning...so unfortunately we had to give him up to a shelter, Dogs & Cats forever, which is a no-kill shelter. He's beyond super sweet, wanting people constantly and to cuddle and I don't think he stopped purring once. That and he's super adorable so I'm sure he'll get adopted soon...but in that little bit of time I got so attatched I nearly wanted to cry seeing the worker take him away with him crying and staring back at us....

Anyway, I hope he gets a good home.

We should have given him a name to remember him by other than rescue kitten.....Hope you find him as cute as I do. I'll nic-name him 'Storm', sounds better than drain anyway. ;)
